Vestry Summary – August 2020

  • The Harvest Fair has been cancelled due to COVID-19
  • The Fundraising Team will be writing to parishioners to gauge interest in a scaled down outdoor yard sale and an on-line silent auction.
  • During the Treasurer’s report it was noted that pledge payments are falling behind. Parishioners are asked to please keep their pledge payments current.
  • The vestry discussed a request that a second sign-in sheet be placed in The Shamrock Room, for those who enter downstairs and have no need to go upstairs.  It was decided not to add a second sign-in sheet, as everyone entering the building is asked to walk through the entire building to visually check for anything amiss (an open window, lights left on, etc.)
  • Tom is talking with someone who may be interested in renting the kitchen.
  • The vestry approved letting the Board of Trustees of Camp Capella use The Shamrock Room one evening a month for their regular board meeting.
  • Christine will resume publication of weekly announcements.  They will be included with the Sunday bulletin and emailed to parishioners in the St. Pat’s Google Group.
  • The vestry approved a photo release form relating to adults who wish to opt out of photos and one pertaining to images of children.
  • Kate has resigned as chair of Outreach.  She will serve one more month while a new chair is sought.
  • Jamie has resigned as Minister of Technology.  Starting in September services will be live-streamed from within St. Pat’s.  Only the worship leaders and essential personnel will attend.  The vestry will revisit this arrangement monthly.
  • Pastor Matthew Brown, First United Methodist Church, Brewer, has invited members of St. Pat’s to attend their indoor service on September 6, which would replace our outdoor service.
  • The vestry is working on updates to St. Pat’s Constitution and By-Laws to allow for co-wardens and bring them into alignment with Diocesan guidelines.   The parish will be asked to vote on any changes prior to the Constitution and Bylaws becoming final.
