June 20th Food Drive for Bangor Area Homeless

St. John’s Episcopal Church on French Street in Bangor will be hosting a food drive next Saturday, June 20, 2020 to benefit the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter.

BIG RED TRUCK FOOD DRIVE
Normally, each Sunday we collected food donations for the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter. Well, times are not NORMAL, are they? And the Shelter needs the food more than ever, even though we are worshiping virtually. So let’s put our non-perishable food pantry donations plus virtual pennies together and support the food pantry at The Bangor Area Homeless Shelter.

On Saturday, June 20, the Big Red Truck will be parked in front of the church from 9 am until 11 am. With all social distancing protocols in place, we will collect your bags of food, and then deliver them to The Bangor Area Homeless Shelter.

Want to contribute monetarily instead? Part of this food drive can be virtual! The normal fall Big Red Truck food drive fills up the truck with about 150 grocery bags of food. So let’s do it this spring, as well. [For calculating purposes, we estimate each bag to be about 10 dollars.] Mail a check to the church office (check to Saint John’s Episcopal Church, memo marked FOOD DRIVE), or contribute through the designated online portal on our webpage by June 15.

We will then consolidate the monetary donations and add virtual bags of food to support the Food Pantry at the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter.
