Associate priest- the Rev. Lev Sherman celebrating
Welcome to our new worship space!” Please take home the information sheet about our seating experiment.
Outreach is sponsoring two opportunities, one that is local and one that is international, for giving during Lent:
- Donations to local shelter Hope Rising that assists sex trafficing victims. Gift card to Hannaford or a gas card to help the program’s graduates.
- Second option is to give to Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD).
Lent is a time to pause and a time for reflection. For the first three weeks of Lent the Guiding Team will be displaying on the back wall of the Worship Space questions to reflect upon in your prayer time. This week’s question is: WHAT GIFT(S) HAS GOD GIVEN ME?
The Lenten Study group led by Jamie Beck will meet on Tuesday evenings at 7 pm. Join this small group as they follow St. Patrick’s Lenten Path Go: Works of Mercy: Where do you meet Jesus? The beginning of our Ash Wednesday liturgy explains that part of observing a holy Lent is to remember Jesus’ gospel of “pardon and absolution.” Yet Lent is not about confession and repentance as punishment but as a profound, grace-filled unburdening so that we might encounter the living Christ in all. When we go out, when we choose a commitment to sacred works of mercy, we set aside our notions of “otherness” and choose Christ, meeting him right where he tells us he will be—in the hungry and thirsty, the stranger and the naked, the sick and the prisoner. If you are looking to tap into a more meaningful and prayerful Lent, consider attending St. Patrick’s Lenten Path group. Guided by Forward Movement, this group will meet weekly to discuss suggested readings, pray, and mindfully move through Lent as a small faith community. The books which will be used for this journey are:
- The Social Justice Bible Challenge: A 40 Day Bible Challenge by Marek Zabriskie ($12.94 paperback or $9.99 Kindle version) and
- Meeting Jesus on the Margins: A Meditation on Matthew 25 by Bo Cox, Allison Duval, and Hugo Olaiz ($10.63 paperback or $4.99 Kindle version).
Both can be purchased through Amazon. Scholarships available for these materials. If you have questions contact Jamie Beck
