The Living Local team: We are in a transition period with our Living Local: Joining God. The Guiding Team is encouraging you to remember our Advent practices and stay alert, notice your neighbors and those you meet during your busy days. How can you continue to engage? “The Way of Love: Practices for Jesus Centered Life” process through the National Church is an excellent way to keep moving forward. We ask you also to continue the prayer “We pray the Holy Spirit leads us each day, to grow in openness with the people we encounter, to hear and connect with them. Amen”
Faith Linking in Action board is arranging to meet with member congregations, congregations that have expressed an interest in our organization, and congregations that have been active in the past to bring everyone up to date with our latest progress. We will ask someone to speak at St. Patrick’s sometime in the new year. All the Teams meet monthly so you might like to attend a meeting to become more familiar their work and maybe become more involved:
- Transportation for All: Is not meeting in December but you are encouraged to attend a forum on Tuesday, Dec. 4 @ 3PM at Penquis Transportaton 262 Harlow Street, Bangor. “Greater Bangor Area Public Transit Forum” will address regional transit service planning on Maine DOT’s Long-range transportation plan
- .Childcare/Jobs: 2nd Tuesday of each month from 6-7:30pm @ First United Methodist Church, 703 Essex Street, Bangor. Contact Peg Olson for more details.
- Food Access Committee: 2nd Thursday of each month from 11-1:00 location varies but the Dec. 13th meeting will be at FoodANDMedicine, 20 Ivers Street, Brewer. Contact Mary Ann Perry for more details.

Look for this image on our home page (lower third). It will include special events like the Advent Retreat, Taize, seasonal posts of Cross Words and Deacon Ponderings. It also includes Advent resources from the Episcopal Church and Diocese.
Setting the Table – During, Advent families will be setting the table for Communion. They will be bringing in their own table cloth, wine glass or goblet, and candles. The communion bread and wine are provided. Please see Lisa Chambers if you are interested. You will enjoy participating in this wonderful ministry!
Our next Taizé Service is on Thursday, December 6 @ 6:30 p.m. as we prepare for a Holy Advent with meditative prayer, scripture, and Songs of Taizé and Iona in a relaxed atmosphere where you will easily become comfortable with the music, scripture, prayers, quiet reflection, and community.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, December 16, at 4 pm for Caroling in the Neighborhood. Caroling has become annual event for St. Patrick’s. Dress warmly, meet us at church by 4 pm. As a group we sing carols up and down Holyoke Street then return to church by 5 pm for a delicious soup supper. To learn more, chat with Mary Ann Perry.
