Music is Alive…2017 Year in Review
Music and St. Patrick’s is lively, innovative, and inclusive. We use contemporary music as well as The Hymnal 1982, Lift Every Voice and Sing,Wonder, Love, and Praise Hymnal and My Heart Sings Out. Our choir is huge. It is the entire congregation. People are very willing to try new pieces sometimes practicing just before the Sunday morning service or staying a few minutes after the service. Evening Sing-a-longs are popular as well as our annual Christmas Caroling to our shut-ins and our neighbors.
A variety of instruments is used each week under the direction of Mary Ann Perry. We use mostly organ, piano, violin, guitar, and percussion. Our core music group, “Servant Strings”, has even visited other congregations to provide music. Guest soloist from our congregation have performed on many occasions.
We offer a Taize Service several times a year. This service of meditation, scripture and Songs of Taize has become very popular with many outside our congregation as well as our own members.
