Ecumenical Ash Wednesday Service

St. Patrick’s is hosting an Ecumenical Ash Wednesday Service February 14 at 6:30 PM with a reception to follow.  Join us in observing the beginning of the Lenten season with our sister churches in the greater Brewer area.  Our music team has put together some lively music to accompany the evening and we need all the great voices of St. Patrick’s to lead the singing and the energy that evening so join us!  And thanks to all of you who signed up to help bake and prepare for the reception.

Thank you to all who contributed set up, clean up and food for last week’s Annual Meeting and luncheon.

Our Lenten Taize Service will be Thursday, Feb. 22 at 6:30. This service of meditation, scripture, and prayer will include Songs of Taize and songs from the Iona Community in Scotland.

Creative Crafts and Conversation meets on Monday evening from 6:00-7:30. Please join us and bring your project.  Why not invite a friend?  If you don’t have a craft project and would like to learn one, come join us.  If you need cloth or yarn or needlepoint supplies, let Peggy know and we can make sure you get some as we have some of these items that have been donated to give away.

Coffee Hour sign-up. 2018 list is ready for you to host a coffee hour. Please check the list for openings. No one is signed up for next week.

Church Calendars for 2018 are ready to take home. Pick one up in the Common Room $5.00 donation is suggested.

Mary Eyerer is delighted to have found a new home at St Patrick’s for teaching Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, an eight-week experiential class in which participants learn several forms of meditation and bring mindfulness to the challenges in their lives.  Becoming aware of the mind’s antics such as going on autopilot, judging both outer and inner experiences often leads to an increased sense of freedom and living in the now.  Her website is and there is a free orientation for the next class on February 28 from 5:30 to 6:45 at St. Patrick’s.  A sliding scale is available for the class.  If you have any questions, Christine Talbott has taken the class and will be happy to share her experience with you.
