The Outreach Committee is thrilled to report the funding for the washer and dryer for a family in transitional housing at Partners for Peace, the local domestic violence project for Penobscot and Piscataquis counties, was a huge success. The family already has these much needed appliances and feel so blessed and loved. Thank you everyone who contributed. The washer and dryer cost about $600.00.

Church calendars for 2018 are ready to take home. Pick one up in the Common Room. A $5.00 donation is suggested.

Our Prayer List has been updated. Remember you can make changes at any time by contacting We would like to keep the list as current as possible.

You may add the name of a loved one to the Memorial for our Sanctuary Candle. A $5 donation is suggested. See the list on the bulletin board in the Common Room.

We serve lunch today (Sunday, January 7, 2018) at noon at Columbia Street Baptist Church. Join us as we enjoy our famous meatloaf dinner and get to know our neighbors. 

New Year, New Coffee Hour Sign up. 2018 list is ready for you to host a coffee hour. Several Sundays are open starting next week.

The New Year at Faith Linking in Action (FLIA)  will be very exciting. The Food and Medicine (FAM) and the FLIA boards held their first joint meeting on January 2 to work on joint cooperation plans for 2018.  The FLIA Board Meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 16 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Solidarity Center, 20 Ivers Street in Brewer. The next Convening for all those involved with FLIA will be held on Tuesday, January 30 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm a the Islamic Center of Maine, 149 Park Street in Orono. This will be of a particular interest to those wanting to learn more about all the teams from FLIA  and hear about the projects for 2018 and our connection to Food and Medicine. Speak to Deacon Peggy Day, the FLIA secretary;  or Mary Ann Perry, St. Patrick’s representative to the board and liaison to the FAM board; for more information.

Mark your calendars for the Annual Meeting which will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018. More details to follow. Start working on any annual report you may need to submit. 

Check the bulletin board in the Common Room for ongoing programs and events at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Bangor. We are all invited to attend. They will hold a special service on Sunday, January 14 at 4 pm to honor Martin Luther King, Jr.

Mary Ann Perry thanks everyone for your generous Christmas gift. Music is such a wonderful gift to share and enjoy. St. Patrick’s congregation certainly does a great job enjoying as we make joyful noise together.
